Where do I start?
Whether you are thinking of applying for Social Security Disability benefits or have already applied and been denied, we can help. Obtaining the Social Security benefits that you are entitled to can be a confusing and difficult process. Let the Law Office of Katherine Roe use our experience and knowledge of Social Security law to help you present a strong case before the Social Security Administration.
Appeal Deadines
If you are denied benefits there are important deadlines you need to file documents by in order to preserve your right to appeal. If you are denied benefits after your Initial Application, you have 60 days from the date of Notice to file a Request for Reconsideration. If you are again denied at the Reconsideration level you have 60 days to file a Request for a Hearing with an Administrative Law Judge. In very limited circumstances Social Security will accept a late appeal if there is a showing of good cause. If you miss a deadline you very well may have to start the whole process over again with a new application. This means loss of potential benefits/money! Contact us as soon as you receive a notice!
