Katherine Roe

Katherine ‘Katie’ Roe is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas, Saint Paul Minnesota with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and minor in Criminal Justice.  She earned her Master in Public Administration from University of Notre Dame de Namur, Belmont, CA.  Katie graduated from University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento where she received the Witkin Award for Health Law and Elder Law Clinic.

During law school, Katie interned with Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County, Human Rights Fair Housing Commission and the California Department of Insurance. While at McGeorge, she worked in the Elder and Health Law Clinic where she handled Social Security Disability appeals, Medicare appeals, elder abuse cases, restraining orders, wills, trusts, consumer protection, special needs trusts, and powers of attorney.

She has received the Cohn Sisters’ Scholarship for Patient Advocacy.

Katie has extensive administrative hearing experience representing clients before the Social Security Administration, Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, Center for Medicare Services and California Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Prior to starting her own firm in 2017, Ms. Roe worked for Fraulob – Brown where she managed the firm’s Social Security practice and represented clients in Social Security Disability appeals and Workers’ Compensation cases.

Katie enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband, Mike, and their two young daughters and two lovable rescue dogs. In her free time, she can be found exploring new books at the local library with her girls, volunteering at their school events and taking trips with the whole gang to visit family on the coast and beat the Sacramento heat!

At the Law Office of Katherine Roe, Ms. Roe provides individualized and outstanding legal counsel and advocacy to disabled persons and their families navigating the Social Security Disability benefits process.

By maintaining a select caseload Ms. Roe is able to work one on one with her clients to collect the evidence and develop the legal theory needed to put forth a strongly supported argument for disability before the Social Security Administration. We are NOT a high-volume practice. Your case is given the attention it deserves. Ms. Roe’s law practice is limited to cases in the jurisdiction of the Sacramento Social Security Offices of Hearing Operations.

Our Story

Ms. Roe began representing disabled persons before the Social Security Administration as a certified law student at the Pacific McGeorge Elder and Health Law Clinic in 2011. She continued to represent individuals in Social Security Disability benefit appeals while at the law firm of Fraulob-Brown where she also represented injured workers in Workers’ Compensation cases. In 2017 Ms. Roe opened her solo practice focusing on Social Security Disability.
